Investigative Journalism does not exist in Pakistan because most local journalists confine themselves to cash envelope (Lifafa) journalism. That is why any International investigation of Pakistani rulers is labeled as a conspiracy against the country. My position in previous posts that Panama Papers revelations are just the tip of the iceberg was confirmed a few hours ago by Gerard Ryle, Director of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists(shown here explaining the contents of the Mossack Fonseca documents in his office). Sharifs, Zardaris, Saifullahs, and others implicated have been issuing blanket denials of their criminal tax evasion schemes without realizing that more pertinent documents would be released soon. Unlike other politicians, Sharifs have been using their children and grandchildren in tax evasion schemes. Shown below as a group, the girls were in the White House last October to pick up an American taxpayer donation of $70 Million for girls' education in Pakistan. Instead of resigning from the PM position and face a criminal inquiry, he and his relatives want the world to focus on the criminal activities of their political opponents. Pakistani generals have always patronized and protected this family from criminal prosecution since Ayub Khan days but times are changing and the family might not be able to bribe its way out of this crisis, as it has done so many times successfully over the last fifty years.
